ANALISIS PERBEDAAN IDENTITAS SAINS SISWA SMP BERDASARKAN TINGKATAN KELAS

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis identitas sains siswa SMP kelas VII, VIII, dan IX dalam pembelajaran IPA. Metode survei secara kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen Science Identity Survey (SIS) dan pertanyaan terbuka. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 529 siswa SMP provinsi Jawa Barat dan DKI Jakarta terdiri dari 195 siswa kelas VII, 266 siswa kelas VIII, dan 68 siswa kelas IX. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata identitas sains siswa SMP 3,48 (kategori sedang) dimana rata-rata 3,60 pada kelas VII, rata-rata 3,51 pada kelas VIII, dan kelas IX 3,33. Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan pada aspek kompetensi dan minat dengan nilai Asymph. Sig 0,023<0,05 dan 0,024<0,05. Berdasarkan jawaban terbuka, siswa yakin mampu belajar dan mendapat nilai bagus serta minat belajar IPA karena adanya kegiatan laboratorium. Rendahnya identitas sains siswa dikarenakan kurangnya minat belajar dan rasa percaya diri dalam tugas IPA Selain itu, peneliti menyarankan mencari solusi untuk peningkatan identitas sains dalam pembelajaran IPA.
