Abstract

Optical wave practical sessions can run smoothly if supported by an optical wave practical guide. Practical guides play a strategic role in the teaching and learning process, assisting both lecturers and students in their learning activities. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of the practical guide based on evaluations by subject matter experts, media experts, and students. The research data were analysed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the validation of the developed practical guide by subject matter experts showed a score of 89%, indicating high validity; the validation by media experts yielded a suitability percentage of 88%, which is also highly valid; and the students’ responses to the practical guide indicated an average score of 84%, stating that it was highly practical. The calculated average N-gain of 0.50 indicates that the developed practical guide is sufficiently effective.
