ANALISIS EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PBL DENGAN PENDEKATAN RME UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN SELF-CONFIDENCE SISWA KELAS VIII
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan desain sequential explanatory. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 66 siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, skala self-confidence, dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan uji-t, n-gain, dan regresi linear, sementara data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa temuan penting, yaitu (1)Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model PBL berpendekatan RME mencapai n-gain sebesar 0,53 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang; (2)Terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis antara siswa yang mengikuti model PBL berpendekatan RME dan siswa yang hanya mengikuti model PBL (t = 2,749; p < 0,05); (3) Siswa dengan self-confidence tinggi menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis yang lebih baik pada keempat indikator, yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi.
