EFEKTIVITAS CASE METHOD LEARNING TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KREATIF MAHASISWA CALON GURU IPA

Abstract


Case method memainkan peran penting dalam pengajaran IPA fisika, namun belum banyak penelitian yang mengaitkannya dengan pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Selain itu, observasi awal yang peneliti lakukan di program studi pendidikan IPA Universitas Negeri Manado memberikan informasi bahwa keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa belum banyak diteliti. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan efektivitas case method learning ditinjau dari keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa calon guru IPA. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis kuantitatif tipe pre-experimental research design dengan menggunakan one-group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes, dan instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar yang didasarkan indikator-indikator berpikir kreatif. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif. Analisis data penelitian mengungkapkan: (1) uji normalitas menunjukkkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal; (2) uji paired sample t-test membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh case method learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa; dan (3) uji N-Gain menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan case method learning memiliki tingkat keefektivan yang tinggi terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan case method learning efektif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa calon guru IPA.
