IMPROVING STUDENTS's ANALYTICAL SKILL USING LITERACY BASED-GUIDED INQUIRY MODEL ON CIRCULATORY SYSTEM MATERIAL

Abstract


High Order Thinking Skill are crucial for students to have in order to implement the Merdeka Curriculum. One of these skill is the ability to analyze. However, (Akbarudin & Nugroho, 2024) found that students’s analytical skill were suboptimal. Therefore, this study aims to improve analytical skill using a literacy-based guided inquiry learning model. This study describes students’s analytical skill using the literacy-based guided inquiry learning model with material on the blood circulatory system. The pre-experimental research design involved a one-group pre-test post-test with 32 students from Class VIII A at SMP Negeri 36 Surabaya. The research instrument used was a test (pre-test, post-test). The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that, based on N-gain analytical skill, the increase in analytical skill was classified as high, with a score of 0.73. This study demonstrates that applying the literacy-based guided inquiry model improves students’s analytical skill.
