ANALISIS STATISTIK KORELASI CURIOSITY DAN SCIENTIFIC REASONING SISWA SMPN 1 KALISAT JEMBER DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat scientific curiosity dan scientific reasoning peserta didik serta hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Data diperoleh melalui angket dengan indikator curiosity yang mencakup ketertarikan mengeksplorasi fenomena, rasa ingin tahu, eksplorasi, pencarian informasi, dan penerapan pengetahuan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa curiosity berada pada kategori sedang–tinggi dengan rata-rata persentase sekitar 60%, menandakan bahwa siswa memiliki rasa ingin tahu ilmiah yang cukup berkembang. Kemampuan scientific reasoning juga berada pada kategori cukup baik, dengan beberapa indikator seperti hypothetical-deductive reasoning, conservation reasoning, probabilistic reasoning, dan proportional reasoning mencapai persentase tertinggi. Uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan hubungan positif dan signifikan antara curiosity dan reasoning (r = 0,654; p < 0,05), sehingga semakin tinggi curiosity, semakin tinggi pula kemampuan penalaran ilmiah siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir ilmiah peserta didik.
