ANALYSIS OF AUGMENTED REALITY DEVELOPMENT BASED ON LOCAL FOOD ‘SIKKA’ TO ENHANCE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract


This study aims to examine the integration of local food from Sikka Regency into biology learning through Augmented Reality (AR) as an effort to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a development approach using the ADDIE model, focusing on the analysis stage through surveys, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Students’ critical thinking skills were measured using an adapted PISA test, while qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicated that students’ abilities remained low in inference (59.17%) and problem-solving (47.5%), and moderate in analysis (68%). In addition, 20 types of local food were identified, including tubers, legumes, and vegetables with high nutritional and economic value, yet they are less favored by the community. These conditions highlight the need for innovative and contextual learning strategies. The integration of local food into AR-based biology learning has the potential to provide interactive learning that fosters logical reasoning, creativity, and ecological awareness among students to support national food security.
