DEVELOPMENT OF STEM EDP (ENGINEERING DESIGN PROCESS) BASED E-MODULE TO IMPROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLSills

Abstract


This study seeks to create a learning e-module based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, utilizing the Engineering Design Process to enhance problem-solving skills among elementary school students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method, specifically using the ADDIE model. The subjects involved in the study were 20 fifth-grade students at SDN Benteng 1 Sukabumi. The validation process was carried out by a material expert, a media expert, and a practitioner (the class teacher). The instruments used in this study included interview sheets, questionnaires, and test sheets. The data collection techniques consisted of interviews, distributing questionnaires, and administering tests. The validation results indicated that the developed e-module was categorized as feasible to very feasible for use, based on the assessments from material experts (85%), media experts (96%), and practitioners (91%). The average feasibility rating was 90%, placing it within the very feasible category. In terms of effectiveness, the average pretest score of 33 increased to 84 in the posttest, resulting in an N-Gain value of 0.77, which falls within the high category. Therefore, this STEM-EDP-based learning e-module is considered both feasible and effective for elementary school learning, particularly in developing problem-solving skills.
